I'm Still Alive!!!

I know I haven't been posting much lately but I am still alive. Victoria and I made it to Barbados...eventually. Our plane to Toronto was delayed but it really didn't matter. The plane to Barbados was delayed almost 5 hours!!!! Oh yeah great way to start the vacation eh?? I will post more when I can. We have been enjoying the past week a lot.

Last Shift!!!!

Tonight is my last shift before vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be off work 20 days!!!! Did I mention I am super EXCITED?!?!?!?!?!

Worst drive EVER!!!

We were "blessed" with another snow storm today. My drive to work was nasty. About 15 cm had fallen by the time I had to head into work. The roads were messy but I made it in. I thought the snow would have stopped and the roads would be better by the time I was to head home. I was very wrong. We got, in total, between 30 and 40 cm of snow depending on what area of the valley you were in. I was almost in an accident (3 times!!) on my way home but I made it through town and up the massive hill. That's when the real fun started. I got stuck trying to get into my subdivision. I was majorly ticked of and floored it in reverse and then floored it in drive. Yes I know this is bad for the car but at the time I really didn't care. I made it to the end of my road, feet away from my drive way when I got super stuck. It involved 30 minutes of shoveling a path for my car and digging the poor little orange monster out of the hole I managed to wedge it in. The car is at the very end of my drive way. The icing on the cake???? I get in the house, and look out the picture window while taking my boots off and what do I see coming in the road??????? Yup you guessed it a PLOW!!!! Not department of highways mind you but one of my neighbours who was making a path for those of us who needed to get in and out.

One week until vacation.....

The Exam is over

I wrote my first HIM exam..it wasn't that bad. I am finally starting to get over the flu and Victoria is starting to feel better too. Next week I have my last 3 back shifts before vacation!!! Once I make it past that it is clear sailing to my vacation!!!! 21 days left!! YAY!!!! Anyone want to come with me???

I wish this exam was over..

I'm tired....I'm stressed...and I need a hug. My eyes are sore from studying. I am heading to bed...I sure hope I can pass this stupid thing on Wednesday.

My New Luggage

My old luggage didn't survive the trip last year...so I went to Winners and bought new suitcases!

Note they ARE NOT red nor black lol...maybe this year they will be easier to spot :P

Overtime....

Today I am working overtime. Our staffing issues clearly havent gotten any better. On the plus side I get an entire shift of overtime before my vacation.

T-26 shifts until my vacation!!! I can't wait!

One Shift Left!!!

Tomorrow night I work back shift and then I am off for Christmas!!! I am so excited! Not that I'm counting lol.

The mother of all storms.....

I made it home...somehow. The storm last evening was in full force when I left. The white outs were frequent and there were several times I couldn't tell exactly where I was on the road. I suppose that is what happens when you combine 15+cm of snow with 100Km an hour winds!
I arrived home around midnight and I am on my way back to work now. I am not due in until 8am however the snow has let up a bit...the wind is still very strong but like I say the snow HAS let up some.

Keep your fingers crossed I make it in to work and back home again in one piece....

Holiday Stress

The stress at work is starting to get to me....combine that with the holiday stress and it isn't a pretty picture. Lord help the stupid idiot that sets me off tonight :P

From the look of this video Santa is dealing with stress issues too.

I can't believe I've worked for AVDHA for five years!!!! My boss called me into the office and presented me with my certificate and five year pin. Isn't it pretty??

I'm tired out

I am totally worn out. I woke up exhausted, and had a headache. The headache has gotten worse, I ache and my throat hurts. I have way too much to do to get sick...it is way to close to Christmas for that. Hopefully tomorrow all these symptoms will be gone.

I WON!!

Well I didn't win so much as the government realized the shortchanged me at tax time! I had a really nice refund last spring but apparently they didn't take all my retirement contributions into account. I received a $692 check in the mail today for what they didn't give me before, and the best part?? It came in before Christmas!!! YAY!! It made my day!
