2 Month Stats!

Harrison was supposed to have his first set of needles today; however due to this nasty virus he has we had to delay them. He did get weighed and had all his other stats taken so here they are:

Head Circumference: 40 cm or 15.7 inches (55 percentile)

Length: 58.5cm or 23 inches (59 percentile)

Weight: 13 pounds 9 ounces!!! (86 percentile)

As you can see in the picture above he is growing up way too fast!

Chinese Tea-Cadance Nutcracker 2010

For all of those of you who missed the show a few weeks ago here is a video of Victoria preforming in the Nutcracker! She is in the red costume with the yellow umbrella (although that is pretty obvious!) I apologise that the beginning is cut off...my battery was low and I wanted to get all of Victoria's part in the video. Basically all you miss is Drosselmeyer coming on stage with one of the umbrella's and gives it to Clara and the Nutcracker. He then leaves and the Chinese dancers enter....

It was a fantastic show! Great job Victoria.

I'm Home!!

So the power finally came back on...Thursday night!!! That's right from Monday at 5:45pm to Thursday at 8:02pm we had NO POWER!

My place is a mess...and I have to clean out the fridge and freezer...

**SIGH**

Because the mess from two kids apparently wasn't challenging enough!

Today I get to play maid...without getting paid...ugh!

A Letter to My Husband

Dear Husband,

Remember the shopping trip where I told you we didn't need a flashlight?? I was very VERY wrong. It is so dark I can't see 2 feet in front of my face. My laptop is running out of power and soon I will be totally in the dark.

*sigh*

Maybe I will get a flashlight for Christmas?

A Letter To My Husband

Dear Husband,

While we suspected our son was a clone of you and that I was simply a glorified incubator; I now have photographic proof Harrison IS related to me!!!

He has inherited my talent for blinking when having his picture taken. Lets hope he doesn't inherit my skill at falling down and walking into things!

Today my son taught me....

....that if you are stopped by the police CRY.

We were stopped at a random road check...when the police officer came to the window and heard Harrison screaming he let us right through. As soon as we started to pull away he stopped crying!

I know I have posted this before....

...but I want/need one of these. Why? Well it seems EVERY time I turn around someone is trying to cause drama where drama isn't needed.

Another Fine Example of Customer Service....

I am totally convinced the customer service industry is dead. Obviously since it is winter and I live in Canada having snow tires is a necessity. Last week my father gave me some coupons to get tires. My husband and I went to the tire place and had 4 winter tires in the correct size put aside for us and said we would be back the next day to have them put on. When we went back to have them put on the gentleman told my husband there were only 2 left!! Okay...now I know math has supposedly "changed" since I was a child but 2 is still less that 4! We ended up ordering the tires in...we were told they would be here by Monday. Well we decided that wasn't going to be acceptable since the tires on my car were...well...bald. We managed to get tires else where and have them put on the car. Good thing too. Today is Tuesday. Around 10 am I got a call from the tire place where we ordered the tires to apologise for another little mix up. Apparently my tires arrived yesterday as expected HOWEVER the stupid numb nuts didn't save the 4 tires for me. Should I still want them he MAY be able to get me some by next week. Now it was really a non issue since I had already found tires elsewhere but had I waited I would have been up the river without a paddle!
How do stupid people keep jobs anyway???

Here comes Santa Floyd!

Sick...

I hate being sick. I always manage to get something at the most inconvenient times!!! Harrison and Victoria BOTH have nasty colds. I had a few sniffles and thought that was the end of it...yeah not so much! I have in the last 12 hours developed a nasty cough, can't breathe at all through my nose and I wheeze if I breath through my mouth, my throat is raw, I have a fever and now have the stomach flu to boot! ( I will spare you the details!)

Victoria is at school, Harrison is asleep and I just want to sleep too but I have to clean up before my mother in law arrives tonight from England.

Sigh....why does the mommy have to get sick?!?!?!

Nutcracker Tickets

Just a friendly reminder that Victoria is dancing next weekend at the Atlantic Theater Festival in the Nutcracker. Tickets are available now for all 3 shows. Just give me a call or call the Acadia box office.

Why do I have a feeling this will cause more problems in the long run?

I know travel security is a big business but this seems a bit extreme.

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/101122/oddities/us_aviation_travel_security_offbeat

This is why in a few years the NTSB or some other agency will make wearing underwear on a plane illegal.

Who would like to teach me to count???

Okay I am obviously missing something. I am starting to think I fell asleep back in preschool when they taught us to count to ten. 2 weeks ago I put out the following on garbage day for collection:
  1. 1 clear bag of garbage

4 blue bags of bottles and cans and plastic

2 blue bags of paper and cardboard

and the green monster (also known as the compost bin)

I came home to find a tag on 3 bags of recycling saying I was over my 8 bag limit. Uhm...wait 4+1+2=7 and if I'm not mistaken isn't

7 less than 8???? My cousin lives in town and her limit is 5 bags total. I called Valley Waste Resource Management and for my area it is a total of 8 bags. This week I put out the following for collection:

1 clear bag of garbage

5 bags of glass/bottles, cans and plastic

1 bag of paper/cardboard

and the compost bin (aka the green monster)

AND.......everything was taken!!! I am so confused....how can 7 put me over my limit one week but be acceptable 2 weeks later???

I swear you need a degree in waste management to sort and take out our garbage in this county!

Family Update

I can't believe how long it has been since I updated this blog! Life over the last few months has been crazy!!! I have been off work since July with complications in this pregnancy. I was in the hospital for a few days at the end of July in threatened preterm labour and got some lovely steroid injections and medication to try and stop or at least slow things down. Obviously it worked. I had a couple more ultrasounds and my due date was changed BACK to November 11 2010. I was allowed home and was to stay on bed rest. Well that was driving me nuts. The first few days of doing nothing was FANTASTIC. Then it got old...REALLY quick! Things seemed to be going well. I was uncomfortable and still having the odd round of contractions but nothing that was causing major changes so I was allowed to stay home. Then I did something really stupid....I had a shower.

Now you may be asking yourself how having a shower is stupid? Well for ME it is stupid to shower when no one else is home. I somehow managed to slip, fall and land OUTSIDE of the shower. That set everything into motion. I had a prenatal appointment that day and called the doctor office to tell them what happened. They told me to come right in. Event though I was have contractions pretty regularly the doctor assured me she thought all was okay and just to go to Labour and Delivery for a monitor strip as a precaution. Well that didn't turn out so well. I was starting to dilate and efface (which had been a change from when I was at my obstetrician earlier in the week). The doctor on call had done a fetal fibronectin test which came back positive. The monitor showed regular contractions and a follow up check showed I had dilated a cm in 45 minutes. I was put in an ambulance and sent to the women and children's hospital in the city. I spent 2 weeks there going between the birth unit and the prenatal special care unit. I was on total bed rest and was given drugs to stop the contractions. I was finally allowed to come home on more rest but still it was home.

I have finally gotten Internet up here that works at a NORMAL speed and not that of a snail stuck in tar. Hopefully that will help me stay motivated to keep this blog up to date.

So now we are here...waiting and just trying to make it to 37 weeks so we are considered term. That will be Thursday....1 more full day and 11.5 hours....Not that I am counting.

Canace Academy Grand Finale "Fireflies"

I tried to upload my little video clip of the grand finale but it didn't seem to want to work. So here is the video the dance school uploaded to YouTube. This was something you really had to see in person to truly appreciate. It honestly gave me chills. Everyone of the little lights you see is a Cadance student. If you pause the video at 2:19 Victoria is the second one in from the right side in the silver angel costume.
