This was my weekend off...PLUS it is Victoria Day here in Canada, so that made it an extra long weekend. So what were my plans for this weekend?? What did I do with my 4 days off??
I looked after a sick 6 year old with the stomach flu!!! Poor little Victoria was super sick all weekend. Even today she sill isn't eating of acting like herself. This weekend has seemed to drag on forever. I feel bad because not much I do seems to be making her feel much better.
Was it a long weekend? OH YES but in ALL the WRONG ways!!

Victoria lost Another tooth!!!
When the bus stopped out at the end of the road today, I was greeted with a VERY happy 6 year old carrying a small film containter shaking it at me. Apparently just prior to getting on the bus she lost her tooth. Victoria's teacher was good enough to find an old 35 mm film container and put the tooth in that so she wouldn't loose it. Victoria told me she is super excited because this tooth is worth more. Later I would regret asking but I just had to know WHY exactly this tooth was worth "more".
Her response (and I quote)
"MOMMY EVERYONE KNOWS WHEN YOU LOOSE 5 TEETH IN A YEAR THE 5TH ONE GETS A BONUS!"
Who knew??? I will post pictures once I actually find where my camera went. I really need to clean this place....

I HATE Boxes!!!!!
The renovations in the office are scheduled to start tomorrow (Thursday) and the massive amount of boxes that were assembled the past two weeks are now being filled as fast as humanly possible. I must say I was blessed with a dream team last night. The girls I had working with me were nothing short of a miracle. We exceeded our goal by a lot and the team work was out of this world. Everyone worked together so well. The little assembly line we had going was far more efficient than I thought possible. The girls switched around as they needed to so that no one got injured and we took frequent breaks whenever they needed. I couldn't have asked for more and each and every one of them exceeded my expectations. A special thanks to Kim and Pauline who put in massive overtime to help me out. I really appreciate it and I owe you girls BIG TIME!!!!
To give you an idea what we are dealing with box wise here are a couple pictures of the 1300+ boxes we have hanging around.
Myself with several full boxes...this is only the very small tip of a rather massive iceberg!!!

More boxes...yes we ran out of room and were even shoving them into peoples offices!!

I'm Still Alive!!!
I am sorry I have been missing in action the past two weeks. I will try and keep this short without leaving too much out.
Victoria has started soccer which will run until the end of the school year. She really seems to be enjoying it. She has joined the gardening club at school and she was so pleased to donate seeds from her grandfathers giant vegetables. Her progress for the recital is going along quite well although I am a bit miffed that I have to pay more for one of her recital costumes than originally planned. The recital will be taking place in a few weeks and I will be sure to post lots of pictures so you can all see her.
Ashley made it home a few weeks ago and stayed until last weekend. The time went way too fast and I am already counting down the days until his next set of leave.
The carpet in the office is for sure being removed. However we have been totally taken over by empty boxes that we will be using to pack everything into until all the work is complete. I am officially the queen of the boxes and to be honest I have contemplated making a fort with them and hiding until someone else has figured out where everything is going to go and has it all packed. The next week or so is going to be mega stressful and I will be surprised if we can make the whole week without an injury.
I have also noticed that my HIM certification exam is scheduled for next Wednesday morning at 9am. This isn't a problem other than I am scheduled to work all night the night before. I think I will have to see about using a vacation day or switching a shift. Otherwise I think I may die.
I think that pretty much catches you all up with what has been going on in our little world. I will do better with the updates I promise!!!

The truth is found on YouTube...
Well in this case anyway. A coworker and I were talking about Hugh Laurie (the actor who plays Gregory House on House MD). I told her he did a guest spot on Friends back in the late 90s. She thought I was kidding her. Thanks to YouTube I have proof!!
Enjoy!!
Enjoy!!

WooHoo Ladies and Gentlemen we have FLIGHTS!!!
The flights have been booked! Ashley will be here on April 21!!! I am so excited! I think that he has worked out all the other minor details as well so it is just a matter of waiting until he gets here.
Just to know that Ashley's leave has been signed and approved was a help. Now that the flights are booked and I know he will actually be coming for more than a few days has taken the rest of the load off my mind. These next 3 weeks are going to drag on forever!!!!

So apparently it IS still winter!!!
As the title says, apparently winter has decided to stick around for a little while longer. It was so nice to actually see the snow starting to go. Then it actually warmed up enough to RAIN!!! The snow really started to go...then it got cold...the rain turned to ice...the ice then turned to snow...and everything is white again...**Sigh**
To distract myself I have posted a few more Barbados. I can't wait to go back next year!

Confession From a Rink Mom
I have a confession. Tomorrow is the first Saturday since some time back in September I get to sleep in and NOT drag myself to a freezing rink in some part of the province, and I am HAPPY about it!!!! I feel guilty, I love my fellow rink mommas and I love watching my girl practice/play. I do however love my bed and sleep. I am looking forward to reacquainting myself with these long lost friends known as my bed and sleep.

Random Update
I am still alive. I believe the antibiotics are finally starting to do their job!! I am still really tired but no longer feel like I am going to die so we are moving in the right direction. So having said that I am going to do an update of sorts, to catch you all up on what's going on with us.
Work:
What to say about this...well we are still struggling with staffing issues. We do have some people starting with us so hopefully this will soon be a non issue. There are rumors going around of the carpet being ripped out of the office. I hope to goodness this rumor is true. That carpet is NASTY!!! The only thing is it will mean overtime for some of us to get things ready for the carpet removal. Oh well it will be worth it for sure!! Over all things haven't been too stressful in that place this week. Having said that I have probably jinxed us all....sorry girls!!!
Victoria:
Victoria is over her sickness. She finished out ringette/hockey for another winter. There will be a banquet sometime in April, so I will be sure to post pictures when that happens. Ballet and jazz are still in full swing. She is currently working on her pieces for the recital in June. For those of you planning to attend the weekend has been switched due to scheduling conflicts at the Horton Performance Centre. If you need more info email me or hit me up on facebook and I will give you the details. Victoria received a reading award for the fantastic job she has been doing. She also made me a fantastic mosaic picture of a rainbow. The class was learning about rainbows and the mnemonic ROY G BIV ( I swear I was older when I learned about that but whatever!) and made the rainbow picture as a way of bringing the lesson together. I will post a picture of the art work later on as well.
Other Random Things:
Valley tire still doesn't have my replacement tire in yet! I also need to get the orange monster inspected before the end of the month. On a side note I noticed the other day that my licence expired in NOVEMBER!!! EEP!!! I don't think the man at the DMV was too impressed with me but hey I now have a VALID licence so it all worked out in the end!! Whew so glad I haven't been pulled over or stopped at a random spot check in the last four months!!! Ashley (my boyfriend for those that I haven't seen/talked to in forever!) is still planning on coming for his leave in April. We still are having issues with his boss committing to when his leave will actually be so flights have yet to be booked. As of now we are planning on April 20, but of course that could change. I just find the whole thing stressful. Until those flights from the UK to here are booked it is going to be a worry.
Well I think that brings everyone up to speed on what we have been doing. I hopefully will be able to post a bit more frequently.

The mommy is sick...
Yup that's right I have come down with some nasty combo of the flu /cold. It is nasty. Needless to say working nights all week didn't exactly help the situation out any. I will spare you all the gory details but rest assured the fever is not the most unpleasant part of the whole ordeal. On the plus side Victoria is over it. I will be back to blogging soon....once the sickness stops...ugh.

Grade One Assembly
Last Friday the Grade One class lead the monthly assembly. Victoria asked everyone to stand and sing O'Canada. I think she did a very good job. The first line she says they gave her the morning of the assembly as another student was sick. I was so proud of her!!!
For those of you who are new to the blog, Victoria is the blond one who looks like me lol.

Where Monday Madness Meets Mommy Having A Heart Attack!!!
I hate Monday. Let me start by saying that much. I mistakenly thought today wouldn't be as bad as normal because (for the first time since the dawn of time itself) I was off work on a Monday. I however was wrong, Oh so VERY wrong.
I awoke to my DD (darling daughter for those of you not from bbc) jumping on me wondering why there wasn't breakfast and why I didn't wake her up for school. Apparently I managed to change every clock in the house to the "new" time (stupid time change) except the one by my bed. Having said this instead of the 6:30am my clock was telling me it was it was in fact 7:30am!!! Not the start I was desperately wanting to my supposedly "good" Monday. I attempted to wash my face however DD was whining that the bus was in the subdivision. I made her a very quick breakfast that she was not at all impressed with, and when she was done I sent her to get dressed and ready for school while I made her lunch. I figured since she is almost 7 this would be okay. Obviously my brain was not functioning properly and failed to see that this was not a wise move. I attempted to make her lunch however realized that I had NOTHING in the house. I ended up working on my days off so my plan for today was grocery shopping. I managed to find enough things to make her a sandwich...that could be an entire post in and of itself!...and threw in some snack items and figured it would have to do for today. I went to find Victoria to pack her in the car and take her to school...that is when I had a heart attack! Victoria had found the temporary hair streaking kit (which I thought I had hid after the episode back in September of last year.) and proceeded to dye her hair BRIGHT BLUE. It was EVERYWHERE!!! Her floor, her walls, her shirt and yes some of it made it onto her hair. I tried to keep myself from panicking and kept telling myself that "It is washable....It WILL come out." I managed to get the blue successfully off of the walls and the floor...then realizing that the blue was probably not going to come out of Victoria's beautiful blond hair I attempted to even out the streaks a little. I then washed her hair 4 times. It was still pretty blue but at least a more washed out blue. (Please scroll down for pictures of the "after" shots.)
We eventually did make it to her school....the amazing part?? She was only 10 minutes late. I was amazed too!!!
I don't think there is enough coffee to make this day better...
